Some time to launch an Arsenal newsletter, right?
I have no idea who needs or wants this. There is already a lot of content out there. But I’ve wanted a place to put more Arsenal stuff for a while now and this just seemed to make sense. I like subscribing to and reading newsletters, I already write about German football on Substack, so it made sense.
For anyone who follows me on Twitter or follows my work on Arseblog or with Opta, you probably know I like to try to figure football out a bit. Tactics, player, some data or even just some quirky stats thrown in. There will be plenty of that here.
There will also be more rambling, sharing my thoughts on things — thoughts that get you shouted down on Twitter so I usually keep to Whatsapps with friends, like saying Nuno Tavares should be Bukayo Saka’s backup next season, or drunkenly suggesting we sign Leandro Trossard a couple of years before we actually did — or looking slightly at big stories outside the Arsenal sphere at times too.
This week, for my first couple of posts, I’ll be writing something on the numbers behind Arsenal’s new-found ability to win from behind and something on what to expect from Sporting CP before Thursday’s Europa League game against them.
If you like the sound of that, or if you like anything you’ve seen me do before, subscribe! If you like the sound of all of it or enjoy my stuff and want to donate me a Guinness a month by becoming a paid subscriber. The amount of Guinness tends to be in line with the number of hot takes, if that’s any incentive. If you think anyone else will like it here too, share far and wide. Every extra person who reads anything I put out there is enormously appreciated.
For now, I will leave you with this.
Welcome to the Arsenal Newsletter Brethren Lewis :)
